IF YOU’RE REHOMING YOUR PET OR AN ANIMAL YOU FOUND
Try posting to various animal groups on social media. Ask friends, family, neighbors, Co-Workers. Post flyers in various Vet Clinics and Pet Stores. Use online platforms to post them where people are specifically searching for a new pet — sites like the Next Door app, Adopt a Pet, PetFinder.com, and Pets For Patriots. Find rescues or fosters in your area at PetFinder.com.
SUGGESTIONS FOR REHOMING AN ANIMAL
We suggest charging a rehoming fee to be reimbursed for vetting. Charging a fee for someone to adopt helps reduce the human “predators” that have other intentions with animals. Potential adopters, responsible pet owners, would be more willing to pay an adoption fee if the animal is already fixed. Low-cost link below. We highly recommend the animal be vetted and fixed before being placed into a new home. Otherwise, you are potentially contributing to the over-population of unwanted, abandoned, homeless animals. Prevention is the solution!

IF YOUR CAT IS LOST OR MISSING
Google search, “what to do if my cat is lost.” Typically, cats tend to stay close to home when they are lost and there are a lot of things you can do to search the area or that can help them find their way home.
The cats that come into our facility are Community Cats, unowned stray and feral, that are being spayed/neutered as part of a TNVR program. All cats are scanned for a microchip for safe measure and returned to the exact location they are trapped. If we find a microchip, we make every effort to contact the last registered owner BEFORE performing any procedure. They are not “taken in.” If you think that your cat could’ve mistakenly been trapped or picked up as a stray, you can send an email to lostpet@safeharborac.org. Please include pictures, description, identifiable markings or important details, along with your location and contact information. We will do our best to keep a look out for your cat and contact you if we find a potential match.
Other resources to help find your pet are Paw Boost and Pet FBI.
IF YOUR DOG IS LOST OR MISSING
The only dogs that come into our facility are brought by rescues and shelters to be spayed/neutered. Dogs are not “taken in” at our facility. Contact your local municipal or county animal control agency to report your dog is lost. Other resources to help find your pet are Paw Boost and Pet FBI.
