Welcome to The Surgery Center at Safe Harbor

The Surgery Center at Safe Harbor was funded by donations and gifts / grants from three area municipalities (Orange Beach, Gulf Shores and Foley). Jim Brown Construction, LLC provided the labor and materials to build the center while the funds from the three area cities were used to purchase the necessary equipment we use every day.

The Surgery Center is a private, High Quality, High Volume Spay and Neuter Clinic. Providing low cost spay and neuter surgery services to area Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate and Return(TNVR) programs, area animal shelters, Animal Rescue organizations and to low income pet owners. We are otherwise not open to the general public.

We can only provide basic services at time of spay and neuter surgery. If you have a medical emergency, need medical assistance, vaccinations or prescriptions for an animal or pet, you will need to visit a regular Veterinarian Office or Clinic. We are strictly, a spay and neuter facility.
Our surgeons and medical team have a combined 35 years of experience, performing quality spay and neuter surgeries at a high volume pace, to at least 30 animals each surgery day.

We Make the Biggest Impact by Helping the People Who Help Animals

Through our donor-established and funded animal medical clinic, S.H.A.C. provides low-cost veterinary services to local partner nonprofit organizations, supporting them in their spay/neuter and TNVR efforts. We believe that by educating fellow citizens about proven solutions to animal overpopulation issues, as well as teaching best practices around responsible and humane pet ownership, we can help empower our communities to humanely and effectively deal with animal issues.

  4. The Medicaid cardholder must sign surgery form on the day of surgery. If cardholder is an invalid or child, the parent/guardian may sign for them. Signor must note the relationship category next to his/her signature on the surgery form.
  5. Program only pays for two surgeries in a calendar year per household. The client will be eligible for two more surgeries in each successive calendar year. A parent with multiple children on Medicaid will still only qualify for the household limit above.
  6. Your pet must be up to date on their Rabies vaccination, required by law. Otherwise it must be administered for $15. Proof of vaccination within the last 12 months will be required.
  7. Additional low cost services (other vaccines, microchip, heartworm test, etc.) are available at the time of surgery but are NOT required. Payment for all additional services will be due when picking up. Click here for our price list sheet.
